Michel de Montaigne's Essays is an essential work of Western thought. In it, the philosopher and humanist expose his opinions and reflections on man, thought, morality, life and death. Montaigne, whose motto was "What do I know?", set out to conquer wisdom, but always from the humility of those who are aware that they may be wrong. Far from seeking the absolute truth, the author tried to know himself and understand others. This volume contains a selection of texts from this vast work, the pinnacle of knowledge, which was very successful since its first edition.
