REVIEW: THE ROSE AND THE DAGGER by Renée Ahdieh
The Rose and the Dagger is the second and last book in the The Wrath and the Dawn series. It continues to follow Sharhzard and Khalid’s story, among its other characters, to a very satisfactory ending that will leave you wanting more.
The Wrath and the Dawn is definitely a story that I’ll never forget!
It was easy to immerse myself back into Renee Adhieh. The author doesn’t waste any time, she goes right to where the reader wants to be. Everything is direct and to the point, focused on what matters. The characters are very intelligent and I liked that a lot. Even with their flaws, they didn’t do anything without planning ahead or thinking it through. You can see how well the story was planned and executed.
I know some people will be disappointed for the lack of importance in one particular thing, that in my opinion, is one of the most important thinsg in the novel. But I didn’t care. All I wanted to know was there, all I wanted to read was there. Like I said before, Adhieh goes straight to what she want us to know.
I was innocent to believe that I wasn’t going to suffer, and for a long while you think you won’t. But let me tell you, get your tissues ready, because the pain will get to you. Get ready for a serious roller coaster of feels. I suffered the fact that this story is fiction and it ends here.
This love story is one of the best I’ve ever read!
Overall, I loved this book as much as I loved the first one. It’s sad that we won’t have more of this story, aside from two novels, and three digital novellas that brings other character perspectives to life. Renée’s writing style is beyond amazing! I can’t wait to read more from her.
The Wrath and the Dawn series is a story that I’ll never forget.
